About Us
We are a group of passionate high school students who would like to pass on our love for STEM and other subjects to others through mentorship and tutoring in these challenging times. We understand how hard it is for families during these unusual circumstances, and we want to try and help as many students as we can so that they will be successful in the future.

What is PowerUpStem?
Free, Quality Tutoring
PowerUpStem is a NONPROFITÂ organization founded by 3 high school students who want to help their community. All services provided are COMPLETELY FREE. We want to ensure that all students, regardless of financial status, location, and race are able to have equal opportunity to help when they need it: something that is quite hard to come by during these unusual circumstances.
Tutors

Ryan Stoops
Ryan, a junior at Los Altos High School, has lots of experience with STEM and working with kids. Has lots of experience with reading, writing, and speaking in Spanish, and plays the violin for the school orchestra. He is currently learning robotics on a competitive team.

Neeku Capak
Neeku is a sophomore at Mountain View High School, who loves chemistry and coding. She has been a part of STEM programs, including Destination Imagination and Science Olympiad, since elementary school. She also has experience tutoring, having previously partnered with her middle school to tutor middle and elementary schoolers in math and science.

Tejas Oberoi
Tejas, a senior at Los Altos High School, has a lot of experience in the fields of Computer Science and Math. He has taken multiple advanced placement and college level courses in these fields and has participated in countless competitions, such as the USACO coding competitions and the AMC Math competition. In addition, he has tutored various elementary and middle school students for 3 years in math and computer science. During his free time, Tejas likes to play baseball, eat good food, and spend a lot of time outdoors with his friends.

Max Traipido
Max is a junior at Lake Washington high school in the Seattle area and is taking courses as Bellevue college. He hopes to one day be a computer scientist. He is proficient in Java and spends a lot of his free time learning new concepts and making video games. He has taught elementary and middle school kids and loves to help people learn. He is also an avid musician and plays the guitar. His dream is to become a rockstar.

Matthew Bhattacharya
Matthew is a 12th grader at Foothill Middle College who loves math and coding. Outside of school he competes in robotics, math, piano, debate and chess. He enjoys tutoring students of varying ages in math and reading.
